Hello Sledders,
What a beach party we had on Saturday for our Clubhouse fundraiser. It was the largest turnout for a Club event that we have seen this year. Great weather, good friends and fun times -- we had it all yesterday.
On Saturday, we raised $4,900 for our new Clubhouse with money being raised from lots of fun events such as: - $120 being raised from throwing a snowball at President George; - $2,000 from the silent auction which turned into a loud, spirited auction (sorry Scott); - $80 for the removal and sale of Bruce Patterson's flowered shorts; - $1,100 for the shaving of Martin Michels' moustache (which he has had since he was 18 -- Elaine now has a new man); - $120 for Rod Gagne's moustache removal.
If you were unable to make it on Saturday and would still like to make a donation towards your new Clubhouse, we are extending our Clubhouse fundraiser until next Saturday March 13, 2010. Donations can be made by contacting one of the Executive or at the following locations:
- Snake Island Automotive in Metcalfe (Wayne Swales); - Stagra Automotive in Greely (Leigh Stacey).
This Clubhouse is being built for the benefit of all members. It will be a place to congregate for Club events, bonfires, Club meetings and a place for you to warm up when you are out sledding.
Our next Clubhouse fundraiser will be on Friday, May 28, 2010 with a boat cruise with Captain Andy (more details to follow). Please mark your calendar for this event -- we would love to see you there!

Hello Sledders First of all, thanks to everyone that attended our monthly meeting Wednesday night. It was a good crowd and lots of issues were dealt with. The 50/50 draw was $37 and thank you Mickey for donating your winnings back to the coffee club. Our Clubhouse fundraising ride was discussed and it is a go for this Saturday. Our groom team checked the trails on Wednesday and they groomed Thursday night but they found that there is not enough snow to do our ride. WE WILL NOT BE SNOWMOBILING Here are the details of the fundraiser: - Meet at the Red Dot Cafe between 10:30am and 11:30 am for registration. We will hand out maps to the new Club House location, load up our cars and trucks [car pool] and drive over to the site for a bonfire. - At the bonfire we can spread out our beach towels, lather up with sun screen and take part in a late season snow ball fight. Hot chocolate and hot dogs will be available on site. Please bring your own refreshments. -We will then head back to the Red Dot Cafe for 3pm. Scott will have lunch for us [3 choices] and there will be a silent auction with many great items. - $20 registration fee per adult - $15 registration fee per child The fee will get you lunch, bonfire, hot chocolate, hot dogs, Sun, snowballs, some great bonfire tunes and a chance at some great silent auction prizes. Note: a special thank you to our groom team they tried their best but Mother Nature won this round. Hope to see you Saturday and remember this is for your new Clubhouse. Hello Sledders,
I would like to thank everyone that came out to this weekend's Club Event. We had a bonfire at the rear of Cory's [Groomer Boss] property on Saturday, and had over 60 sledders drop in for a visit. It was nice to see the young sledders having fun cooking hot dogs over an open fire.
This weekend is our big charity event of the year. We are having our local run in support of the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Snow Run. The money raised at our event will be sent to the main Kelly Shires Run held in February in Huntsville. The Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation is in its 11th year and growing strong. There are so many great charities supporting the fight against breast cancer but this one is unique. Most charities are raising money for breast cancer research for a cure, which we know is a great cause. Our charity of choice raises funds to help women diagnosed with breast cancer in their battle against the disease. The funds that are raised go to the women who need it. The charity helps pay for things that are not covered by OHIP and/or most medical plans, i.e. transportation and lodging for treatments, wigs, special bras, medication, etc. Please see attached flyer and check our web site for updates. Please remember that we have a Club meeting Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Metcalfe Lions Den [2 buildings south of the arena]. If you purchased a trail permit in our area YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE OSGOODE CARLETON SNOWMOBILE TRAIL CLUB. Come on out and meet the people that make up your snowmobile club. PS. Don't forget to bring a couple of toonies for the coffee club and 50/50 draw. Thank you, Rick Grisel Social Director

Great Club ride today. The warm weather had little effect on the turn out today. We had 14 sleds and 17 riders and did aprox. 190km. We left Metcalfe at 10:30am and headed towards the Morewood Chesterville area and had our first break. From there we headed south to Riverside and stopping for lunch at the McIntosh Inn in Morrisburg. Riders that were planning on spending the night at the McIntosh Inn decided not to due to the weather forcast on Sunday. We then headed west to Iroqouis and north to South mountain for fuel. After fueling up we headed to Osgoode where we all split up and headed home. The trails were still holding up all day for us but we need snow. Stay tuned for our next Club ride.

Great club run today. We had 17 sleds and a total of 21 riders today and did aprox. 200km. We left Mikes resturant at 9:30am and went to Chez Philias in Bourget for lunch, explored the Larose Forest and ended at the Red Dot for supper. Trails were in great shape . Please keep checking this site for our next club run.
Happy sledding, Rick Grisel Social Director
