Membership Director's Message - February, 2010

Hello, all Members,

We are now well into the snowmobile season. We sold a healthy number of permits this year and I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all the outlets that helped us this year. There are still permits being sold. We are expecting some more snow this week and hopefully, we’ll have several more weeks of riding.

Certainly, we’ve been looking for more snow for much of the winter, but we’ve had some good times, with possibly more just ahead. Even during the lean periods, our groomers and trails people have been doing everything they possibly could, to provide the best trails they could with what was available. Considering what other recreational activities cost, I think we all got our money’s worth.

The ‘Classic Permit’ was new to us all this year. It was so popular that it was almost an overwhelming task at the District office and pain in the butt for the many people who had to mail, fax, or travel to Morrisburg to obtain their permits. Thank you all for your patience in this matter. We sold an even 100 Classic permits in our Club alone. Congratulations. I’m sure that, for next year, there will be a more convenient system to obtain them. I will keep you posted as I get the information.

We still have 3 and 7-day permits available for visitors, or maybe, those who finally got there sleds put together and would like to get out for a run to finish off the season.

Please join in with the increasing number of people enjoying the Club by coming to one of our meetings. They are on the first Wednesday of each month at the Lion’s Den in Metcalfe at 7:30.
